Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies the result. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When someone sends us a message, we keep it as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads:
- Page-view timestamps
- Your device type and operating system
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Your browser type and version
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The Internet Protocol address assigned to the device
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand site traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the website function.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing faults and repairing technical problems
- Routing a submitted query to the selected search partner
- Maintaining site availability and performance
- Measuring which pages visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site publishes general directions to Cooper County custodians, the Circuit Court, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is handled under the provider’s privacy policy rather than this one. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices, so review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Cooper County offices, Missouri courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination’s privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to track activity across websites for targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure performance and traffic
- Search providers that process a query submitted through their tool
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks that serve ads on site pages
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard safeguards for the information we collect. No internet service is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that such data was submitted, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. In Missouri, consumer-protection matters may fall under the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act, Chapter 407 RSMo. The Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, including §610.100 for arrest and incident records, governs public-government records and does not turn this private site into a public records custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request deletion of personal data where the law provides that right
- Ask for access to information kept about you
- Object to certain processing where applicable
- Request correction of inaccurate information
